莎士比亚名剧《威尼斯商人》以其鲜活的人物形象和深刻的社会意义,吸引着众多读者。作品真实再现了中世纪西欧犹太人的悲惨境遇,深刻揭示了基督徒与犹太人关系的本质,表达了作者对犹太民族既怀有深切的人道主义同情,又无法彻底摆脱中世纪西欧反犹排犹情结影响的双重心态。
Abstract：With its vividly depicted characters and profoundly expounded social significance,William Shakespeare's famous play,The Merchant of Venice has been attracting lots of readers.The play has accurately represented the miserable historical situation of the Jews in the Middle Ages,and has deeply revealed the essence of relationship between the Jews and the Christians.In this drama,the author outpours the dual mental attitudes of deeply and humanitarianly sympathizing the Jewish ethnic group,unable to completely get rid of the influence of the anti-semitism complex in the Medievel Western Europe.
